An Easy & Beautiful Thanksgiving Table!

Thanksgiving may not feel the same this year with our tables being set a little smaller; however that shouldn’t mean we need to sacrifice how they look! Setting a beautiful table is at least one way to maintain the traditions that we treasure. And when a curated event box company can help make it easy to do so, well that’s even better!

I recently had the pleasure of collaborating with the curated party box company, ROKKBOX on their “Fall Fete” collection. This amazing box is filled with elements to elevate any Thanksgiving tablescape. Their thematic sets include cloth napkins, plate cards, coasters, drink charms, placecards, and even a sweet little dried flower accent to include at each setting. I was also generously provided the set of coordinating taper candles and glass holders which is typically an a-la-carte add-on. This curated box is perfect for the hostess who wants to style a Pinterest worthy table, but isn’t sure where to start. Although most of the items are disposable, the dried flowers and cloth napkins are reusable. For only $99 you would absolutely never be able to find a stationer to design these pieces, let alone include cloth napkins and dried flowers for this fantastic price point!

How to create a swoon worthy tablescape:

First off-the word “tablescape” in the event industry refers to the landscape of the table. Taking the vignette of a single place setting and creating a cohesive vibe throughout the full table, connecting each guest. Here are some additional styling elements to be sure to include in your Thanksgiving tablescape alongside your ROKKBOX.

Table runner:

For this tablescape I went with a whimsical piece of cut muslin cloth to create an earthy-organic ambience. This was purchased by the yard at my local Jo-Ann Fabrics store. Table runners are a great way to add texture to your table. Vary the materials you use while still making sure they compliment each other.

Flowers:

Whether you forage your own or shop via your local florist, every tablescape needs flowers! I was grateful to have my lovely friend Amy, owner and lead florist of Amy McLaughlin Flowers, provide me with some beautiful fresh blooms for our tablescape. My initial plan was to use varying sized bud vases throughout the table. However, as I began laying out the plan, I made a last minute adjustment to add height to the center of the table and create a more dramatic earthy boho-vibe. I used the remaining flowers to create an organic and natural centerpiece to compliment the table linens. Flowers play a large role in dictating the direction of any tablescape. Color, size (of arrangement), types of flowers used, placement of vases/containers all play an intricate role in the level of drama or simplicity the table will evoke.

Place Setting:

Layer your place setting! Whether you use a charger, add an additional plate (for salad) or even a simple menu/plate card, adding depth to your plate creates dimension for your beautiful table. I incorporated the gorgeous textured pottery style dinner plates from Crate & Barrel and positioned the ROKKBOX plate card, cloth napkin & delicate dried flower accent on top. Additionally, the use of gold flatware differentiates your table as a special occasion.
